1 – Describe your role at Brains
As a Business Support Manager my role involves heading up the audit function for 54 pubs, including wet and dry stocks, cash and health and safety.
2 – What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy working in the diverse range of businesses, from city centre venues to hotels to food -ed destination pubs. Each business and task requires a new challenge, which makes the role both interesting and varied. I work as part of a close team, as well as on an individual basis to support the channel, which is highly motivational.
3 – What attracted you to Brains?
Having worked for Brains early on in my career, I was attracted back after several years away by the enhanced media profile of the excellent new businesses acquired and developed by Brains, such as the Yard and Terra Nova.
4 - What is your career history?
I began my career with Brains after leaving university and progressed to become the Assistant Manager of the White Horse. After a couple of years I moved to the South of England with another company. I returned to Brains as a Designate Manager based at the Yard in 2003. Over the next 4 years I worked in several Management positions, including a secondment as Recruitment and Training Coach, before applying for the role of Business Support Manager.
5 - How would you describe the Brains culture?
Brains has a positive attitude towards developing their businesses and employees. The company is continually expanding, but always maintains the friendly family culture on which it prides itself.
6 - Best day at work?

Wales Grand Slam Victory, 2005! I was working at the Yard, where the atmosphere was incredible and the pub was packed to the rafters. The Yard was the place to be and I thrived on being part of the team that made this day a huge success for the business.
