Marketing Manager
My day normally begins at 8am as I get into the office at the Cardiff Brewery. I get a glass of water and begin going through my emails (I have normally checked them on my phone on the way in so know what to expect!) I spend the first hour or so of the day going through these emails and try to get as many of the more straight forward and urgent ones dealt with, scheduling the more complex for later in the day.
At 10am I have a meeting with one of our suppliers, to talk about brand plans for the year and to put in place two pieces of activity for the estate. These include a staff incentive and also an e-mailer promotion. The meeting lasts for roughly two hours and at the end I have 4 or 5 different action points. At 12pm I process some invoices for work that I have requested and ensure that the design and print companies have the PO numbers they need to pass invoices to us. In the afternoon, I have two new food menus to proof read and return to the designers with any amends that are needed, I then check the varying quotes for print and decide which printer is going to get the job for the menus.
I manage to use a couple of minutes in the afternoon to work on one of the long term projects I have, before going into another supplier meeting at 2pm. This takes me through to around 4.30pm and I leave with a few more action points. I now have time to check my emails and phone messages again and I spend the next hour or so getting back to people and solving some of the issues I set aside earlier. I usually leave the office some time around 6pm, and any urgent further work is done online at home later that evening.
