Scholars Refurbishment


Work starts today on a six week refurbishment of one of Aberystwyth’s best loved pubs. The Brains-owned Scholars, on Queens Road, will close while the work is carried out and reopen at the end of August.

Wales' Best Beer Gardens


Two of our pubs have been named in the Wales on Sunday’s guide to Wales' most scenic beer gardens. The Ferry Inn in St Dogmaels and the Ship Inn in Tresaith feature alongside eight others in the guide to 'the very best places to go for an al fresco beverage’.

Brains launches craft brewery


Today we celebrated the official launch of our craft brewery – coming 130 years after Samuel Arthur and Joseph Benjamin first established Brains.

Brains short-listed in Great British Beer Hunt


Sainsbury's has announced the regional winners of this year's Great British Beer Hunt, following five heats in which Sainsbury's customers and beer experts judged more than 100 beers from across the UK. With the long term trend toward premium beers in the market, breweries nationwide put forward their new beers for the chance to win a prestigious retail listing.

The Plough Reopens


The Plough in Whitchurch has reopened after major refurbishment. The Brains-owned pub, in the heart of the Village, has seen a change in menu, decor, and will offer a wider selection of real ales.
