This week we'll be revealing how we, as sponsor of London Welsh RFC, will be tackling the ban on alcohol advertising in France.
Legislation prohibits us from displaying ‘Brains Beer’ on London Welsh shirts when they face Grenoble at the Stade Lesdiguiéres on Friday 7th December. Instead we’ll be running a new message, intended to remind customers of our brand, but still adhering to legislation.
Richard Davies, Sales and Marketing Director at Brains explains: "As a sponsor of the WRU we’re well practiced in addressing the ban, which we’ve always seen as an opportunity rather than a problem. In 2005 we changed ‘Brains’ for ‘Brawn’, in 2007 the kit read ‘Brawn Again’, while in 2009 we chose ‘Try Essai’ – which when spoken aloud was intended to be mistaken for an invitation to ‘try SA’" with Essai being the French word for ‘try’.
To find out what’s on the London Welsh shirt, tune in to watch the match on Friday 7th December at 6:30pm.
