Bar Games League

Station skittles 300x180The winners of Brains’ inaugural Bar Games League, made up of darts, pool and skittles competitions, were announced at an awards ceremony in Cardiff.

Teams from pubs throughout South Wales competed in the league, organised by Welsh pub operator Brains, with prizes totalling £6,750 on offer.

A team from the Seagull in Porthcawl claimed the top spot in the darts competition; ‘Tavi’s Taffys’, representing the Tavistock in Cardiff, finished first in the pool league; and the ‘Top House Turnouts’ (pictured left) took the Skittles title for the Station pub in Cogan.

The winners of each ‘Cup’ competition were awarded a cheque for £1,000, while the runners-up claimed £500. And those who just missed out on getting to the final were entered into a ‘Shield’ competition, with £500 for the team in first place and £250 for the team in second.

Richard Davies, sales and marketing director at Brains, added: "52 teams representing pubs throughout the region took part in the league, which shows that traditional pub games are still popular."
