A Cardiff pub has raised more than £1,500 for charity by hosting a 24 hour darts marathon.
Six customers from the Maltsters, on Merthyr Road in Whitchurch, played for the full 24 hours, while another three players took over for shifts throughout the day. The majority of the money was raised through sponsorship, which will be donated to Velindre Hospital in Cardiff, while all ‘bucket money’ from the day will go to Cancer Research Wales.
"Lisa Richardson, manager of the Brains owned pub, said: "The charity is close to all our hearts so we were delighted to be able to make such a significant donation. But we couldn’t have done it without the commitment of the players and the generosity of our customers."
