Cask Ale: Class Three, 22 Feb 2011
Judges at the Brewing Industry International Awards 2011 awarded SA Gold the Cask Ale - Class 3 - Bronze Award.
800 beers from over 40 countries entered the awards, which were judged in February in Burton-upon-Trent. Judging took three days and was carried out by a panel of highly respected brewers from around the world. Speaking of the award Bill Dobson, head brewer at Brains, said: "We are passionate about brewing and enormously proud of our beers. The competition attracts some of the best beers from all over the world, so winning a medal is a huge honour."
SA Gold was launched in 2006. Careful use of hops creates a satisfying bitterness, perfectly balanced by vibrant citrus aromas and complex hop flavours from late-hopping using Cascade and Styrian Goldings. A deliciously satisfying and refreshing pint.
